Quinoa Breakfast Recipes

Looking for a great way to start your day? Try quinoa breakfast recipes!

Cooking quinoa is really a fabulous way to start your day –especially if you are trying to watch what you are eating. The slow burning (low glycemic) carbohydrates combined with the high protein content can really help keep cravings at bay later in the day. Plus, I love the way that quinoa keeps me full without making me feel drug down. There is nothing worse to me than a heavy breakfast. Many health experts believe that starting your day whole grains (or grain type) foods is one of the best strategies for those looking to shed excess pounds. Quinoa breakfast recipes certainly fit the bill!

The good news is that since quinoa is so versatile, there are many great quinoa breakfast recipes out there.

So, the first step is deciding what you are in the mood for. I am not a big fan of eggs, but I really like a quinoa frittata. The extra protein keeps you full and the flavor is so good that I hardly notice the eggs. It is a frequent in my house because I just started lifting weights and am trying to get more protein. (Which is really hard for me as a vegetarian!)quinoa breakfast recipes

Quinoa berry crunch is a great make ahead dish for those mornings when you know that time is going to be tight. The toasted quinoa will keep for a week in an airtight container. In the winter I love a warm breakfast cereal and the quinoa and oatmeal and cinnamon quinoa really fit the bill.

When I am looking for breakfast recipes, I am looking for easy breakfast recipes. Other times of the day I will get wild but in the morning, I like to keep things fairly simple. I’d much rather spend time cuddling with my boys than spend the morning in the kitchen.

If you are someone with very limited time in the morning, quinoa breakfast recipes can still be a part of your day. Just make the quinoa ahead of time and then heat it up with the milk of your choice. (I like vanilla almond milk.) Top it with some cinnamon, fresh berries and nuts and you have got a healthy breakfast in a flash. Make it even healthier by adding in some ground flax seeds. You will be amazed at the health benefits that you can experience from just 2 tablespoons a day!

Another great way to start your day is to mix in an equal amount of oatmeal and quinoa. Hopefully by now you are seeing that your options with quinoa breakfast recipes are almost endless! Here are some of my favoriete for you to try!

I'm crazy about quinoa ! My favourite breakfast feast is to cook it in the rice cooker with apple juice instead of water, and a cinnamon stick. I sprinkle a bit of brown sugar if i need a bit of something, and whne it's done I sprinkle dried cranberries and sliced almonds on top. Keeps me so full til lunch!

Joanie, Thank you so much for your kind words and more importantly, congrats on your very impressive weight loss! Way to go! Is this the diet:

The 17 Day Diet: A Doctor's Plan Designed for Rapid Results<img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=httpwwwfin075-20&l=as2&o=1&a=1451648650" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />

Is it vegetarian friendly at all or is it like the 4 hour Body and really difficult to follow if you don't eat meat? Thanks,

Wendy

If your a vegetarian you can follow the diet..I will quote from the book: "If you're a 'lacto-ovo-vegetarian', you limt your protein to dairy products and eggs. That means you'll obtain your protein from probiotics like yougurt, eggs, and beans and legumes (depending on which Cycle you're on). 'Semi-vegetarians', who avoid red meat but eat fish or chicken, can easily follow the diet. 'Vegans' avoid all animal proteins. If you're a vegan, you can still follow the diet. simply use vegan meat substitues at meals for the protein and use a probiotic supplement in place of yogurt. The 17 Day Diet adapts to virtually any nutritional lifestyle"
