You are absolutely correct! This was an article that I had written back when the site was first started when my knowledge of quinoa beyond cooking it was very limited! There are several posts that need updating and this is certainly one of them. Quinoa originated in the Andean Mountain regions of Peru and Bolivia and was indeed the Gold of the Incas!

Hello,
I am just curious about you article stating that Quinoa is native to Colombia and Argentina. I 'd always thought that Quinoa was native to the Andean countries such as Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia because of their climate and geographically where the Inca Empire had a stronger presence.
Perhaps you meant to say that the Inca Empire Extended from the (what is now) south of Colombia all the way to ( what is now )* Chile and Quinoa was native to and cultivated all throughout the countries in between including Colombia and Argentina.
I may be completely wrong but I just wanted to express my opinion.

I loved your article and even better the links to the delicious Quinoa Recipes!!!!!
