The book starts off with great instructions for those who need to learn how to stock up their pantry as well as basic cooking techniques for different sundries like pasta, beans and rice.
After that you get a slew of rockin recipies to tempt even the biggest meat eater. From appetizers to full meals, so far I personally have not found a recipe that I did not like.
This book can help people to introduce more healthy side dishes to any meal. You may not turn into a vegan, or it may be a slow conversion, but having more veggie dishes that taste delicious can never go wrong.

My best friend loaned me this book, and after reading half of it, I knew I wanted it! The dialogue is upbeat and sassy. The recipes range from comfortable to creative. None of the recipes look like “too much work,” with the exception of a few special occasion foods.
I love this book because it’s MASSIVE! When I want to make something, I looked in about 5 cookbooks, and more often than not, the Veganomicon had it when the others didn’t. My new favorite summertime recipe: Lemon Bars.

Lots of great recipes and tips. I’ve been a vegetarian for years, and learning how to replace animal products with vegetable or soy is great and more healthy. It is liberating to learn I can eat such a wide variety of things.

My boyfriend and I sit down for a meal and it goes something like this:
Bf: Wow! This is really good. Where did you get the recipe?
Me: From the cookbook my coworker gave me in the book exchange. You know the one.
Bf: (mouth full of food) Mmm hmm, yum.
Another winner from The Complete Vegan Cookbook.
This is my go-to cookbook. I make the fast and delicious recipes in this book more than any other recipes. I love the pasta puttanesca with artichokes, the potato and garlic soup, rice noodles with curried veggies, tempeh rancheros, chorizo “sausage”, linguine with asparagus, walnuts and fresh herbs. This book has my favorite hummus recipe. When I made the chocolate-cinnamon walnut cake, a non-vegan friend asked for the recipe and made it for her non-vegan husband’s birthday that week!
I also appreciate a little bit of history, accompaniment suggestions, leftover storing and alternative ingredients in the side bars.
